Jonathan is passionate about all things Wagyu.

How do you describe your job to your friends? I breed the tastiest cattle in the world.

What’s your favourite Wagyu meal? Ribeye steak, double cooked chips, corn on the cob and Yorkshire rapeseed oil mustard mayo.

Which Yorkshireman/woman would you most like to eat Wagyu with and why? Frazer Hines – he was an inspiration when I was growing up – I loved Emmerdale Farm!

Where’s your favourite place to spend the day when you’re not working? Is there such a thing as a day off?! A bracing walk at the seaside with my family followed by fish and chips at the end.

Juli tries to keep the team in order by providing delicious, home-made cakes and a little bit of gentle nagging.

How do you describe your job to your friends? Hectic! I manage all the passports for the cows as well as running the farm office.

What’s your favourite Wagyu meal? As a busy mum of two – a speedy Wagyu spaghetti bolognaise is always a mid-week winner, but for a treat I love a Wagyu fillet steak with beetroot and watercress salad.

Which Yorkshireman/woman would you most like to eat Wagyu with and why? John Whitaker as he shares my love of horses.

Where’s your favourite place to spend the day when you’re not working? Most of my weekends are taken up with my two daughters and their ponies at various competitions or hacking out on our wonderful bridleways across the Yorkshire Wolds.

Nick is our talented chef. He also looks after the hire of our WOW Wagon.

How do you describe your job to your friends? I’m a stockman and chef working with some of the finest cattle in the world. My job is really versatile and I get to meet loads of interesting people.

What’s your favourite Wagyu meal? I like to start the day with a good cooked breakfast – two Wagyu sausages, fried eggs (fried in Wagyu oil), beans and wholemeal toast. Sets me up for the day.

Which Yorkshireman/woman would you most like to eat Wagyu with and why? Jeremy Clarkson. He shares my passion with all things on wheels.

Where’s your favourite place to spend the day when you’re not working? I enjoy going to motoring shows and events.

Mike Heath, Yorkshire Wagyu StockmanMike Heath, Stockman

Mike is our stockman who is responsible for rearing all The Yorkshire Wagyu Company’s calves. A former professional footballer, he’s also the goalie for the Wagyu Warriors football team.

How do you describe your job to your friends? I ensure the young calves get the best possible start in life.

What’s your favourite Wagyu meal? Sirloin steak, creamy pepper sauce, chips and salad.

Which Yorkshireman/woman would you most like to eat Wagyu with and why? Helen Mirren – brilliant actress and was fantastic in The Calendar Girls – who knows there may be a Wagyu Warriors calendar coming soon.

Where’s your favourite place to spend the day when you’re not working? Bridlington south beach with my wife, three children and dog!

Steve is chef Nick’s older brother and looks after the growing cattle and manages all the silage grasses and 120 acres of Lucerne.

How do you describe your job to your friends? I grow the cattle and the grass!

What’s your favourite Wagyu meal? Wagyu cheeseburger!

Which Yorkshireman/woman would you most like to eat Wagyu with and why? Geoffrey Boycott – I play a lot of cricket and Geoffrey has always been an inspiration.

Where’s your favourite place to spend the day when you’re not working? Although I work on the Yorkshire Wolds I never tire of the views and enjoy taking my dogs for a walk with the girlfriend followed by a cosy pub lunch.

Andrew is the stockman who looks after the older cattle

How do you describe your job to your friend? I manage the finishing unit which holds the biggest of the wagyu cattle before they go from farm to fork.

What’s your favourite Wagyu meal? Wagyu lasagne, salad and garlic bread.

Which Yorkshireman/woman would you most like to eat Wagyu with and why? William Hague – I’m interested in politics.

Where’s your favourite place to spend the day when you’re not working? I enjoy gardening and cooking (watch out Nick!).

Jan Haw, Yorkshire Wagyu CompanyJane Haw, Accounts and Admin

Jane keeps our books straight and provides valuable admin support. She also entertains the team with her Scouse accent.

How do you describe your job to your friends? I’m in the office but get to see lots of other farming activities – I have seen cows calve and sheep lamb which was interesting, but I’m more comfortable behind my desk!

What’s your favourite Wagyu meal? I’m a burger kind of girl – but of course with relish not ketchup!

Which Yorkshireman/woman would you most like to eat Wagyu with and why? Sir Gary Verity. He’s a farmer who has done a great job of putting Yorkshire on the map and I hope that he’d help us to do the same with The Yorkshire Wagyu Company.

Where’s your favourite place to spend the day when you’re not working? The Box Gym at KP Club in Pocklington.
