East Yorkshire beef business wins best new business award 19/10/2015

All the team at The Yorkshire Wagyu Company are celebrating after winning a start-up business award.

Jonathan and Juli Shephard, The Yorkshire Wagyu CompanyThe Yorkshire Wagyu Company won the Chamber Bridlington and Yorkshire Coast Business Awards prize for Best Start Up Business at a glittering ceremony at Bridlington Spa on Friday, 16th October 2015.

Eleven members of The Yorkshire Wagyu Company team were present at the prestigious event that is presented by the Hull & Humber Chamber of Commerce and is now in its ninth year. It is one of the area's leading business events and recognises the achievements of East and North Yorkshire businessmen and women.

Our director Jonathan Shepherd was delighted to win the award, "We're very proud to have won this high profile award that will help us to put The Yorkshire Wagyu Company on the culinary map."

CBYC Winner LogoAfter two years spent establishing one of the biggest herds of full and cross bred Wagyu beef in the UK, Wolds farmers Jonathan Shepherd and Jim Bloom launched The Yorkshire Wagyu Company to sell their premium beef direct. It is available from the Balloon Tree and from selected restaurants throughout Yorkshire.

Wagyu beef originates from Japan where it is renowned for its exceptional flavour and melt in your mouth tenderness and its high levels of ‘good' monounsaturated fats that give the beef its characteristic marbling.
