Yorkshire Wagyu cows live happily on the Yorkshire Wolds, enjoying the scenery and plentiful grasslands. Our cows are placid and live a stress free life, meaning their meat is beautifully tender and sweet.
Most of our cattle are sired by one bull called BlackGold Mikado [aka Barry], which allows us to keep the cattle as consistent as possible. We also have developed a Wagyu Fullblood breeding programme and have started bringing in some Wagyu young bulls which have been bred here at Yorkshire Wagyu.
Wagyu are the only cattle in the world that have been selectively bred for their flavour and marbling. In order to guarantee provenance, we have developed a unique DNA ear tagging system so that we can trace every animal from field to fork.
